The way the pages are broken out is approximate as many pictures include people from all over the various families, so treat the different sections as guides only. The quality of the pictures does vary as many are so old. A number had creases and tears or had become spotted, and I have tried to correct for this with varying degrees of success! The important thing is that now they are in digital form, they are preserved for generations to come; if they are interested.
This section is devoted to photographs of our families, which are unlikely to be of interest to anyone other than family. If anyone has any objections to pictures of themselves here, please let us know and we will remove them. If you have any family photographs which you would like to see on this site, and share with the rest of the families, please let us know. You can either e-mail any digital photos or send prints, negatives or slides which we will scan and return to you. Even if they are in poor condition, I can usually improve them to some extent. Should you wish to make prints of any of the pictures, let me know as I have much higher resolution versions of most of them that are more suitable for print production. They are just too large to include here on the website. Many of the older pictures have people whom we have not been able to identify. Any information would be welcome, so if you recognize someone, please let us know!
Family
Introduction
Deborah's Family:
The first four pages relate to Deborah's side of the family. The first three pages are pictures of Deborah's parents families; Giacovelli from her father's side, and Bulat from her mother's side. The fourth page contains historic pictures from the McGowan family, Deborah's Aunt Jean and her husband, Harry McGowan and their children.
William's Family:
The last three pages relate to William's side of the family. The first page is a general selection of photographs from William's direct family, dating from the 1940s up to today. The next page contains pictures of William's Mother's side of the family, including pictures of his mother when she was quite young. I have recently (January 2012) been in touch with a cousin in Greece who has sent a number of pictures that I have added. The final page contains recent pictures of William's sister, Mary, and her husband, Mick. It includes a number of pictures of their visits to us, their garden, and their wedding in England in October 2009.
