This is the living room in original condition.  The arch leads to the entrance lobby. and you can see a smaller arch leading to a small area that looks out to the front of the house.  We intend this to become a reading "nook".  The open door on the left of the arch leads to the small lobby that in turn leads to the main front door of the house.  The sliver of light you can see to the right of the arch is the matching entrance into the drawing room, although that has a huge pair of curved top doors.  The windows have been replaced, and we the moldings have been restored, but we will not address the walls and ceiling, both in poor condition, until at least 2010.  Currently, we use this room as our TV room.

Two pictures of the lamp we inherited in the living room.  To us, it is one of the most horrendous light fixtures we have ever seen.  It also hangs so low down, I repeatedly hit it with my head.  We are not sure how old it is, but it is for sale!  Similar modern reproductions that we have seen, which this could be, cost around $600 new!
