This is how the room looked when we bought the house. The same yellow as used on the exterior, and no more attractive on the interior! Again, the windows were way out of alignment, leaving gaps at the top and bottom. The lack of screens meant that this was a major source of bug infiltration; I hate bugs. Eventually, it will not be yellow. Originally, we intended this room to be the library, but now think we will use it as a second guest room.
This room has three built in closets. When this was going to be the library, I started to build bookshelves in the closets to hide my large collection of science fiction paper backs. This was the first one, and it goes right up to the ceiling - nearly ten feet. It takes about one third of them. As we both enjoy reading, and buy books in some profusion, we find ourselves with around 3,000 books. We are now using another room to house the majority of them; more of that in the next room; the Library.
The day that we had all our belongings moved from the apartment after having sold it. It is still being used as a storage room, but is a little more organized! This room is the current project. I am, as at February 2009, in the process of restoring the window frames prior to installing replacement windows once the weather improves. Caulk and paint do not like being applied when it is well below freezing.
