- Bar Harbor

Visit:
The Balance Rock Inn grounds run down to the ocean shore where, if you cross the shore path, you find the "Balance Rock" after which the hotel is named.  It seems to have been deposited here by a receding glacier during the last ice age. 
Usually we have very pleasant weather, as seen in the first two pictures above. 
The last picture, however, does show an ominous fog bank.

The Harbor

The schooner "Margaret Todd", moored in Bar Harbor.  You can take a trip around Frenchman Bay on her, although we have never done it. 
A lot of cruise ships put into Bar Harbor.  They look quite majestic from a distance.  Unfortunately, especially when there are a couple in port, the town gets very crowded. 
Visible from the shore path are several islands just off the mainland.
