Here are a few pictures of the Hog Island Shoal lighthouse taken on our trip in March 2011. It is located just south of Hog Island, and can be seen from Bristol Ferry and the bridge there. The pictures are somewhat grainy as they were taken from the bridge, while we were held up in traffic, with the camera hand-held using a focal length of 500mm (35mm equivalent). Not the best recipe for sharp images.
The lighthouse went into service in 1901, replacing an old lightship that was failing.
