Medusa, Albany County, NY

Medusa is a hamlet located in the Town of Rensselaerville, in Albany County.  A "hamlet" is a community that is in a town, and has a name, but is not incorporated as a village, so has no government of its own.  Medusa was originally called Hall's Mills after Uriah Hall and his son who were the first settlers in 1786.  The name was changed in 1850.
