In 2004, on our very first trip to Newport, we took the cliff walk.  It started off as an easy stroll................
..................then it became a lot more interesting!

The Cliff Walk

Spring
To the left is one of the buildings in the Salve Regina University campus.  It is just to the left of Ochre Court as seen from the cliff walk.
Above, one of the access points onto
the cliff walk.
Three pictures above taken from near the start of the Cliff Walk, on Memorial Boulevard looking out over Easton Bay
I took these five pictures at the beginning of the cliff walk, at the northern end, just off Memorial Boulevard.  We found some early crocus and snow drops in flower.

Fall

Winter
Pictures of the Cliff walk taken on a trip to Newport in Spring of 2011.  We had two lovely days to explore the cliff path before the weather turned a little ugly.
Pictures of the Cliff walk in the Fall.  We had one gorgeous day to explore the cliff path.  Unfortunately on the second day, part of which we planned to spend on the cliff path, the weather turned rather cold and windy, so we decided to pass.
As the Winter was so mild, we decided to try going to Newport in February.  It was the lure of inexpensive hotel rates that did it!  Though, we really felt like a break.  We were lucky to have pretty good weather and made it onto the Cliff Walk on two of the days we were there.  Here is a selection of pictures starting from the Memorial Drive entrance, and going as far as Rough Point.  To the left, a gaggle of geese on the lawn of The Breakers mansion, while to the right, a panorama taken part way along the walk.
